This Was Staging For 1st Comps As They Arrived In Vietnam. (Each Comp Helped The Next Comp Deploying B Helped C, C Helped D ect)

every tent had a bunker next to them, these were the first sleeping quarters , they buildt hooches in the begining of 67.

THIS WAS THE ENLISTED MEN'S SIDE OF MESS HALL. I HAVE TO SAY IT WAS QUIT ADEQUATE.

 

Company Area Was Laid Out, As Cosmo Weeled & Dealed to Get Us Sidewalks.

Slowly The Comp Area Took Shape, but, There Was Still A lot of Work Ahead. Between Defending Theirselves, Setting Up Suitible Living Area, Building Permanent Buildings, The Company Also Had to Support The Armor & Infantry Units.

THE 1ST TIME I SAW   CPT. COSMO BARONE WAS IN JUNE 66, STEVE WEST, TONY POWELL, KEN BERTOZZI, & I ARRIVED IN COMP. IT WAS AFTER LUNCH AND WE WERE ALL 4 SITTING IN FRONT OF HIS DESK IN HIS OFFICE.. SEEING THIS GUNG HO CAPT WITH A CIGAR DANGELING FROM HIS MOUTH,CREW CUT HAIR.... HE WAS QUITE A SITE, AND VERY IMPOSING... HE TURNED OUT TO BE A GREAT LEADER AND STILL IS ... CIGAR AND ALL!!!!!  (WILLY RABE)
