SGT ARTHUR N. MC MELLAN mess sgt who was first causlity for C comp. He was killed in a sniper attack on his jeep coming back from Ben Cat in dec 65

Assembly Area Saigon College( this was staging area for troops of 701 when they arrived in country.)

every tent had a bunker next to them, these were the first sleeping quarters , they buildt hooches in the begging of 67.

THE 1ST TIME I SAW CPT COSMO BARONE WAS IN JUNE 66, STEVE WEST, TONY POWELL, KEN BERTOZZI, & I ARRIVED IN COMP. IT WAS AFTER LUNCH AND WE WERE ALL 4 SITTING IN FRONT OF HIS DESK IN HIS OFFICE.. SEEING THIS GUNG HO CAPT WITH A CIGAR DANGELING FROM HIS MOUTH,CREW CUT HAIR.... HE WAS QUITE A SITE, AND VERY IMPOSING... HE TURNED OUT TO BE A GREAT LEADER AND STILL IS ... CIGAR AND ALL!!!!! (WILLY RABE)
